Travel agents can now enjoy discounts of 15% and upwards on Qantas merchandise available in the Qantas Shop.

The special discount rates apply on all merchandise including travel luggage and accessories, model aircraft and vintage posters. Howeverm Q Bag Tags and Qantas Valet parking vouchers are not subject to the discounts.

 

Air New Zealand carried 1.8% more passengers in June than in the same month last year, with nuymbers hitting 1.18 million for the month.

Tasman/Pacific demand climbed 2%, but a capacity increase of 3.6% as the carrier upped frequency on the Auckland-Honolulu route, meant load factors dipped an average 1.2 percentage points to 82.4%.

 

South Africa Tourism is urging agents to sign up to its SA Specialist program in order to better cater to clients interested in travel to the destination.

The seven module program must be completed within 90 days, with a pass mark of 80% required in order to achieve SA Specialist certification.

"The SA Specialist program is designed to improve your travel knocledge of South Africa and give you the skills to sell the country as a tourism destination," SAT said.

CAE Oxford Aviation Academy will undertake the training of Tigerair A320 first officers in a competency-based Multi-crew Pilot License program to be conducted at training locations in Singapore and Melbourne.

An initial 10 cadets will take part in the program later this year.
