A new government incentive aims to help tourism operators capitalise on visits to their websites by providing them with an easily accessible booking and payment tool.

Tourism minister Gary Gray today launched the Australian Tourism Booking Widget which he said will help convert interest into actual bookings, particularly for regional operators that rely heavily on online communication.

The Australian government has committed $500,000 to the project.

Scenic Tours has launched its first ever dedicated China and Japan brochure featuring Yangtze River cruising.

To mark the launch, the operator is offering free flights for the second person travelling to China when booked by November 30. For those traveling to Japan, it is offering a room upgrade at the Conrad Tokyo when booked by the same date.

Chairman and chief executive of Wynn Resorts has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the second Global Tourism Economy Forum to be held in Macau from September 17 to 19.

Last year, more than 1000 delegates from 34 cities around the world attended the inaugural event.
