DMS expands into outbound leisure travel

DMS expands into outbound leisure travel
By admin

DMS Destination Marketing Services has expanded the company’s scope for 2014 with the addition of a leisure travel division to its existing business events-focused operations.

The company’s new managing director Marissa Fernandez revealed that DMS Leisure Division will launch with a range of Morocco tours operated by its partner Activ’Travel.

“It is a very logical move for us particularly when you track current demand by small up-market groups for special interest, luxury and occasion based travel,” she said. “The services and expertise offered by our network means that Australian high-end travel agents and wholesalers can position themselves confidently at the top end of the market and deliver product experiences, which are not widely available here.”

“Highly creative and unique” itineraries will be the focus of the new division which will be headed by Kristie Turner who has been with DMS for four years.

It represents the latest in a series of initiatives as the company consolidates its tourism representation operations to the outbound market. Under the changes, DMS is now structured into three divisions: Conference and Incentive business, International Hotels and Resorts and new addition Leisure Travel.

Fernandez described it as a “exciting time” for the company.

“This expansion gives us the opportunity to offer a broader range of services to our international business partners and also extend our client base in Australia and New Zealand – its all part of our business philosophy of being alert to market needs and fast and flexible in our response.”
