Bill Peach hits a nerve with solo travellers

Bill Peach hits a nerve with solo travellers
By admin

Bill Peach Journeys has increased its short break and small group product, and identified the potential of the solo travel market.

The luxury tour operator reported that 50% of business is single travellers, particularly popular among single women aged between 60 and 80.

‘”It’s touched a market we knew we had but didn’t realise the potential of,” Bill Peach Journeys sales director Allison Portus said.

The company does not charge a solo supplement and short break trips such as an Andrea Bocelli concert in Sydney as well as a domestic Christmas itinerary have sold out.

“People are looking for shorter time experiences… they want to do something exceptional,” Bill Peach Journeys managing director Jan Musgrave said.

Musgrave said that Bill Peach Journeys has evolved by catering toward smaller group experiences.

The 2015 Luxury World Journeys brochure has been released, with itineraries to China, USA, UK, Myanmar, Mexico, Vietnam, France and Cambodia.

Global itineraries and destinations are never the same year on year in order to keep return clients, who represent 55% of bookings, coming back.

“They could technically do these experiences themselves. What they look for from us is it’s all taken care of,” Musgrave said.
