The finalists for the 2013 Australian Federation of Travel Agents National Travel Industry Awards have been revealed, with this year's awards ceremony expected to be the largest to date.

Record numbers are expected to attend the event at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on July 20, according to AFTA chief executive Jayson Westbury.

He congratulated the finalists and nominees, and warned that the judges will have a "tough job" ahead of them.

"Peer recognition is such an important measure of success and it's great to see such strong ongoing industry support for the awards," he said.

"The calibre of nominees is again extremely high this year so well done to all of our nominees and best of luck to our finalists."

Judges will select the winners in each of the 33 categories, with half of the decisions to be based on finalist presentations which will begin soon.
