Edited by Travel Weekly

From today, Cathay Pacific is increasing its weekly flight frequency between Brisbane and Hong Kong by 50 per cent, from four to six flights per week. The additional direct flights between Hong Kong and Brisbane will support demand for tourist travel, cargo exports, and international students.

Cathay Pacific will operate the increased services on flight CX156 every day from Friday to Wednesday, departing from Brisbane at 00:40 and arriving in Hong Kong at 07:30. The return flight CX157 will operate every day from Thursday to Tuesday, departing from Hong Kong at 12:30 and arriving in Brisbane at 23:15.

Earlier this year, Cathay Pacific celebrated its 41st anniversary of flying to Brisbane, a key port for the airline.

Regional general manager of Southwest Pacific, Frosti Lau said, “We’re proud to be increasing our services to Brisbane to six flights per week as we continue to meet the increasing demand within Queensland’s tourism and export sectors.”

This 50% frequency increase is one of several made by Cathay Pacific in Australia in 2023, further reinforcing the airline’s ongoing commitment to restoring seamless connectivity to Hong Kong and beyond, across its global network.

The service will be operated by a mix of A350 and Boeing 777. with a maximum capacity of 294 seats, including 59 fully flat Business class seats, 34 Premium Economy and 201 Economy seats.

Passengers to and from Brisbane can look forward to enjoying Cathay Pacific’s superior cabin experience and award-winning inflight entertainment offerings, including more than 100 hours of films, series and documentaries from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic on Disney+, available on Cathay Pacific flights from 1 December.

Flights are available to book now at www.cathaypacific.com/au.
