Explore Group announced the appointment of Dominik Strobel in the newly created role of group sales manager.

Strobel’s appointment comes as part of the company’s efforts to rebuild and recover post-COVID.

Strobel will oversee sales for all Explore Group’s Auckland, Bay of Islands, and Australian businesses. He will have a particular focus on trade and will represent Explore in key markets across the UK, Europe, and North America.

Strobel has extensive experience in the tourism industry, having started his career in New Zealand in 1998 as the sales & marketing manager for Fullers Northland, which later became Fullers Bay of Islands. He continued to work for the company, later known as Marine Tourism Holdings (MTH), as it expanded into Fiji (South Sea Cruises, Awesome Adventures Fiji) and Australia (Cruise Whitsundays), taking on various roles until 2006. Strobel then joined Explore Group in 2007 in a sales and marketing capacity and held the role of GM sales & marketing with Explore Group until 2014.

Strobel has been working in Europe for the past five years and is excited to be back promoting New Zealand, Northland, and Auckland on the international market. He attended TRENZ in May and looks forward to connecting with Explore’s partners and industry friends.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dominik back to Explore Group,” said William Goodfellow, MD of Explore Group.

“His extensive experience in the tourism industry and his knowledge of the Explore Group and Fullers GreatSights will be invaluable as we navigate the post-COVID landscape.”
