Scams, payments and security: Here’s what’s being covered in AFTA’s new webinar

Last year Australians lost over $568 million to scams according to the ACCC. AFTA’s latest webinar will be focused on supporting members in guarding against losses by understanding all there is to know around payments, scams and security.

The AFTA Team will be joined by Kevin Butler – general manager at TravelPay (Zenith Payments).

Kevin has over 18 years of payments experience and led the launch of TravelPay 9 years ago. In his role, he oversees the multiple industry payment solutions that Zenith operates.

Prior to joining Zenith, Kevin held various marketing and management positions in Australia and Ireland.

The Webinar will be held on 23rd May 2023 at 4pm.

Topics to be covered in the Webinar:

  • CHARGEBACKS – How to avoid them happening to you and what to do when you get one.
  • PAYMENT PRACTICES – How you can be sure funds are recieved and ensuring the funds you send go to the right destinations.
  • COMMON SCAMS – Invoice hacks (i.e scammers changing invoices you’ve sent to be their account) and other things to look out for.
  • PCI COMPLIANCE – How you store, receive credit card information.
  • REFUND – Assisting our members understanding the legality of payments – ie what happens when paying with vouchers etc.
  • INTERNATIONAL CHEQUES – What to do with these when banks will not cash them?
  • MERCHANT FEE CHANGES – What can you charge and when are these fees reassessed?

For ATAS Members the Webinar will be free of charge. Non-members are welcome to join and can contact afta@afta.com to register for a $50 fee per person.
