Sydney Airport’s Lost Property Auction is back

Sydney, Australia.

Were you one of the unlucky flyers that left something at the airport?

Well, it’s time for karma to come back your way because Sydney Airport is hosting its Lost Property Auction for the first time in over two years.

Due to the COVID pandemic, collectors, travel aficionados and those who love a bargain have been starved of the opportunity to snag the remains of someone else’s luggage. But this is no longer the case as online auctions for lost luggage will be hosted by Theodore Bruce Auctioneers from Sunday 5 February to Sunday 12 February.

More than 2,600 unclaimed items will be auctioned for charity, with bids starting at $5.

Items include laptops, headphones, cameras, sunglasses, handbags, jewellery, wine and a host of unique items like a hedge trimmer, outdoor lounge and even an air fryer.

Sydney Airport’s lost property auctions have raised over $1.4 million for charity since 2013, with this year’s money going to Bayside Women’s Shelter.

More details to come.
