Silversea announces famil winners for its champagne incentive, appoints new SVP for sales

Silversea Cruises has concluded its champagne giveaway and announced the lucky winners of its exclusive trade incentive.

Every agency which made a booking between July and November scored themselves a bottle of Pommery Champagne. Plus, those who also did some marketing to their clients using the lines marketing platform and completed two training modules in Silversea Academy, went into the draw to win a fabulous famil, with the top two highest-selling agencies also winning a weekend for two in a Hilton Hotel of their choice with spending money.

“This incentive was a huge success with hundreds of bottles of Pommery Champagne given away to supporting agencies and 10 agencies have also won the Famil of a lifetime which will take place later in 2022. We can’t wait to welcome them and their partners on board and spoil them with our luxury cruising as thanks for all their support over these times,” said Steve Richards, director of sales Australia and New Zealand.

Travelaffair Blackwood and Trendsetter Travel and Cruise Centre came out on top as the highest sellers, winning spots on the famil with the added Hilton stay.

“I’m thrilled to be a winner of Silversea’s major prize for its recent incentive. Silversea’s Marketing Central simplifies the process of making enticing offers to clients and once we’ve converted them, I appreciate the facility to manage those bookings within My Silversea. It’s a good working partnership!” Adrienne Witteman (featured image), owner of Trendsetter Travel, Sydney said.

“Given the 2 years the travel industry has just endured, the super exciting news we had won the Silverseas Trade Incentive, was such an exciting time for our office. It restores our confidence that the world is starting to return to normal and the wonderful world of cruising is back on”, said Lyndall Young, director of Travelaffare, Adelaide.

Famil spot winners, Bitcon Travel Team

The random draw winners were Bicton Travel, Mark Spurway (Mobile Travel Agent), Travel View, Travel Associates Burleigh – Cruise boutique, Bayview Travel, Lewis & Turner Travel Associates, Travelcall Armadale and Travel Designers.

The winners were announced as Silversea appointed a new senior vice president of sales, cruise industry veteran Katrina Athanasiou.

Athanasiou will drive Silversea’s sales strategy in the Americas across all channels, reporting to Mark Conroy, Silversea’s managing director for the Americas.

With a career in the cruise industry that spans 21 years, Athanasiou is well placed to apply her wealth of experience and expertise to the boutique approach of the leading ultra-luxury cruise line.

Her most recent role as Chief Sales Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line saw Athanasiou develop, implement, and lead profitable business development strategies while nurturing the long-term success of travel partners and leading high-achieving teams through her focus on performance and culture.
