Crowne Plaza returns to Adelaide with grand opening

Crowne Plaza Adelaide has officially opened its doors officially, marking the brand’s return to the “City of Churches”.

The property was opened on Monday by Australia’s Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment, Simon Birmingham; alongside the Minister for Trade and Investment Health Industries, Stephen Patterson; South Australian Tourism Commission CEO Rodney Harrex, Adelaide City Council Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor;  Crowne Plaza Adelaide and Kyren Group owner Theo Samaras, and Australian Hotels Association general manager Ian Horne.

“To those who have long dreamt and worked hard to deliver on this site, we extend an enormous thank you for the risks that you have taken, for the commitment that you have made to Adelaide, South Australia and to Australia by seeing the potential in investment like this,” Birmingham said.

The hotel is housed in Adelaide’s tallest building, Frome Central Tower One, standing at 138 meters tall and located at 27 Frome Street.

It’s 329 rooms offer in-room streaming via Chromecast straight to your TV, charging stations and in-room Bluetooth speakers, and plush bedding including Crowne Plaza’s Sleep Advantage Program.

Located on level 10, the hotel features a rooftop heated infinity pool with city views and a 24-hour fully-equipped gym with the latest in Technogym equipment.

The hotel also features two food and beverage venues on level 10, including Adelaide’s highest restaurant, Koomo, offering a modern menu with a Japanese influence fused with the flavours and textures of Asian cuisine.

Luna 10, offers a deck bar for cocktails, light snacks and share plates.

Conferences and events will be a major focus for Crowne Plaza Adelaide, with the property offering 450 square metres of flexible events space.

Crowne Plaza Adelaide is located in the city’s East End, diagonally across from Adelaide’s  Lot Fourteen with Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide Oval, the art gallery and museum only a five-minute tram ride away.
