Globus and Cosmos launch new Australian and NZ tours

Globus and Cosmos have launched a new collection of Australian and New Zealand tours created specifically for local travellers.

The itineraries (nine by Cosmos and four by Globus) showcase the very best the countries have to offer, from the famous sites to lesser-known regions, giving Aussies the opportunity to explore closer to home.

Available to book now with the first departures scheduled for February 2021, the tours include nine itineraries in Australia and four in New Zealand, with more to be announced soon.

The trips will give Aussies access to a range of incredible experiences, from digging your very own spa pool on Hot Water Beach in New Zealand and sleeping under the stars in a luxury eco tent on Rottnest Island in Western Australia, to sampling premium rums at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery in Queensland and meeting a local farmer on a working sheep farm in Tasmania.

For travellers who like to build some adventure into their holiday, there are over 40 active inclusions available as well, including kayaking on Lake Taupo in New Zealand, swimming in a natural thermal hot spring in the Kimberley, and taking a guided heritage walk in Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Gai Tyrrell, managing director for Australasia at Globus Family of Brands (GFOB), said: “We’re delighted to launch a new collection of Australian and New Zealand tours and bring more than 92 years of experience closer to home.

“We asked Aussies what they would love to see from an escorted tour closer to home, and worked closely with local travel operators and tourism boards across both countries to curate itineraries we knew they’d love.

“With help from our passionate tour directors, guests on these trips will get a taste for the best local produce, uncover Australia and New Zealand’s natural wonders, visit the finest wineries and breweries, and have meaningful interactions with local suppliers at a time when they need our support the most.

“The accommodation has also been handpicked, from boutique hotels to safari-style tented cabins, allowing travellers to experience their own backyard in complete comfort.”

To celebrate the launch of the Australian and New Zealand tours, GFOB is offering five per cent off Cosmos and 10 per cent off Globus itineraries to those who book by 31 January 2021 for travel next year.

To give guests greater peace of mind when booking, GFOB is offering all guests complimentary SafetyNet Protection, giving customers the opportunity to cancel with no penalties up to 30 days prior to their trip.

Alternatively, guests can amend their holiday up to 24 hours in advance of their tour departure. Complementary protection is applicable to all bookings made by 31 January.

To help protect the health and safety of guests, the trips will have a maximum capacity of 24 guests to allow for comfortable physical distancing, and new on-trip protocols and procedures have also been put in place to elevate GFOB’s hygiene standards and help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection.

These procedures include pre-trip health screenings for staff and guests, daily disinfecting, reduced luggage handling and pre-screening each restaurant, activity and accommodation to ensure its safe.
