Intrepid travel joins Prince Harry at Travalyst Global Summit
Intrepid Travel founder Darrell Wade has joined a panel on sustainability for Travalyst’s first virtual Global Sustainability Summit.
Travalyst is the organisation established by Prince Harry in 2019 and key partners include Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor and Visa.
Prince Harry hosted an opening address at the Summit, where he outlined the goal of the organisation to take sustainable tourism out of its niche and into the mainstream.
The Duke of Sussex called for the tourism industry to build back better, with better-funded social projects and a less polluted environment.
With more than 100 million jobs in the travel and tourism industry at risk, Travalyst’s aim is to address systemic challenges and create sustainable change with a focus on communities around the world.
Travalyst polled their international industry members and found that 90 per cent want to rebuild sustainably and 38 per cent said that the relationship with local communities is one of their most important goals.
