G Adventures to host free weekly trivia nights

G Adventures to host free weekly trivia nights

Continuing its endeavour to create entertaining virtual experiences to combat ‘iso boredom’, G Adventures will be hosting free weekly virtual trivia nights, open for anyone to attend.

The first trivia night (aka ‘Geo Party’) will take place on Tuesday 5 May at 7pm (AEST) via Zoom with GPS Jake Hilbert as quiz master.

Each Geo Party will feature five questions from eight different rounds, including food and drink, history, sport, geography, music, anagrams, entertainment, and culture.

Every week, the quiz will focus on a different country, and to kick it off, G Adventures is starting with Australia and New Zealand. Teams can register their attendance here.

Adrian Piotto, managing director for Australia and New Zealand at G Adventures, said the small-group tour operator has always created community through shared experiences.

“While travellers can’t come together in person right now, they can still connect, learn about different places and hopefully get some inspiration about where they want to go next – all using the gift of technology.”

More than anything though, Piotto believes the trivia nights serve as a bit of fun for an industry going through an unprecedentedly difficult time.

“It’s all about bringing people together and staying connected, so put the MAFS re-runs on mute, crack a cold one and get cracking on a team name!” he said.

The trivia nights form part of the wholesaler’s suite of new Virtual Travel Experiences, which have been designed for armchair travellers to connect with the world around them and discover new places and cultures.

Earlier this week, G Adventures hosted what it claims was a world-first virtual small-group tour of Italy.
