CLIA to launch “next-level” education platform

Seminar, E-Learning, Technology, Single Word, Concepts & Topics

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Australasia is preparing to unveil a next-generation online platform that hosts all of its education and member services in a single location.

To be launched next month, the entirely new platform will introduce new features, new content and streamlined services, all designed to make travel agents’ work easier and boost their cruise sector education.

Combining the existing CLIA Learning Academy and CLIA Member Hub, the new system is designed to create a better and more cohesive experience for travel agent users, while at the same time providing a foundation for expansion in the future.

To prepare for the new CLIA Member Hub, agents who are currently working on education modules will need to complete them via the existing platform by 5 April, as partially complete work cannot be transferred.

New education opportunities will then be available via the fresh platform once it is launched on 6 April.

CLIA’s head of international training and development, Peter Kollar, said the Member Hub would be mobile and tablet-friendly, with a host of extra features.

“The new platform will be a fantastic asset for travel agents, delivering education in a more engaging and visual format,” he said.

“It will offer important resources to use as day-to-day references, while at the same time giving agents better education options to support their development into the future.”

A key change will be the introduction of dedicated areas for individual cruise lines, allowing agents to access information such as BDM contact lists, view webinars, download brochures, find news and promotions, and take-up cruise line training.

There will also be an amalgamated calendar that combines CLIA events with cruise line initiatives such as information evenings, ship inspections and roadshows.

Existing education components will be updated in look and content, while new courses will be introduced as part of a new, streamlined learning structure.

Further details will be provided in the lead-up to the launch and members will receive step-by-step instructions before the new system goes live.

“The online education and member services we provide are the most valuable benefit of CLIA membership,” Kollar said.

“CLIA specialist travel agents are among the most successful agents in Australia and New Zealand, and the new platform we’ve created is designed to develop that success into the future.”
