Wholesaler Wrap: Trafalgar, Costsaver and Globus update travel policies, Bunnik celebrates 25 years + MORE!
This week’s Wholesaler Wrap not only contains a lot of great deals, but also a lot of important info in response to the coronavirus outbreak, so it’s worth reading top to bottom.
Coronavirus forces Trafalgar and Costsaver to update travel policies for Italy
Travel to and through Italy continues to be affected by the current outbreak of novel coronavirus, with non-essential precautionary travel alerts imposed by some worldwide government bodies.
As such, Trafalgar and Costsaver have cancelled all Italy trips effective immediately and until 31 March 2020. The Travel Corporation is attempting to reroute all Discovery trips travelling through Italy wherever possible.
Clients who have booked to travel to or through Italy up and until 31 March 2020 can choose any alternative trip with Trafalgar, Costsaver or any TTC travel company anywhere in the word, with a 15 per cent saving.
Any guest who chooses to cancel can apply to take their trip at any other date within the next year.
For clients travelling after 31 March 2020, Trafalgar and Costsaver are continuing to monitor the situation and following all authority guidelines, and live updates will continue to be provided on their respective websites.
In addition, and in accordance with travel restrictions imposed by governments worldwide, all trips travelling to and through China, and commencing before 30 April 2020 have been cancelled.
For clients travelling from May onwards, further updates will continue to be provided at Trafalgar.com. Temporary cancellation terms apply.
All worldwide trips (with the exception of those outlined above) are operating as planned.
For guests with existing bookings departing on or after 1 April 2020, Trafalgar and Costsaver have temporarily changed the terms of its cancellation policy to give clients more time to make decisions about their future travel plans without worrying about increasing penalties.
Effective immediately and until further notice for 2020 Trafalgar and Costsaver trips departing 1 April 2020 or later, the brands are temporarily offering a waiver for the cancellation penalty until 30 days prior to departure should guests wish to change their dates or travel to a different destination with Trafalgar.
This applies to land bookings only and does not apply to European trips that include Oberammergau. Also, airlines may impose different change policies.
Globus updates travel policy due to coronavirus concerns
The Globus family of brands (Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways) is responding to coronavirus uncertainty with a policy that enables travellers and their travel advisors to adjust travel plans to help alleviate their immediate concerns, related to upcoming or future trips.
At this time, all of the Globus family’s tours, cruises and independent holiday packages are operating as scheduled, with the exception of mainland China.
For all other destinations, Globus, Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways are introducing a temporary policy update for 2020 travel, as follows, until further notice:
For travellers with existing bookings and for new bookings, deposits on future Globus tours can be moved to any other brand (Globus, Cosmos, Monograms or Avalon Waterways), destination or itinerary in 2020 or 2021 without penalty prior to final payment
Additionally, Globus is allowing guests departing on any holiday that includes Italy, on any date, to move their tour to a future date without penalties.
Also, Globus is temporarily waiving cancellation penalties until 30 days prior to departure.
Some restrictions apply to these policy changes. Visit Globus’ traveller update page for details.
