Collette celebrates 5th anniversary in Australia
Family-owned tour operator Collette has commemorated its five-year anniversary in Australia, with a celebration event at the home of the Consul General of the United States of America, Sharon Hudson-Dean.
Speaking on the night, Hudson-Dean (pictured above, five from left) acknowledged that the ties between the US and Australia are “extremely important” in 2020, considering New South Wales and Victoria’s recent tourism and community devastation by bushfire.
“It’s my intention to do what I can to encourage many Americans to come and visit in this very important year, as many of the places that have been hard hit by the bushfires are trying to rebuild,” she said.
“Tourism will be very important for that.”
The event was also attended by Collette senior vice president global business Christian Leibl-Cote, who revealed Australia had been one of the tour operator’s toughest international markets.
“We’re very committed to the Australian market,” Leibl-Cote said, adding that America’s oldest tour operator plans to donate $50,000 to the bushfire appeal, on top of an already donated $7,500 toward the Koala Hospital.

AKP Helps Build ‘Castle of Books’ in Peru
Since 2008, Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP) has helped support Peru’s ‘Children of the Rainbow’ school in the Sacred Valley where more than 220 of the most impoverished, at-risk children in the area receive meals, medical and dental care and an education.

The children can now find sanctuary in the reading nooks enjoying a wide variety of titles and improving their comprehension.
Abercrombie & Kent guests visiting the Sacred Valley have the privileged opportunity of visiting the AKP supported Children of the Rainbow School, interacting with the students and family members, touring the kitchen, garden and classrooms and gaining insight from A&K’s local Philanthropy Coordinator along the way.
