Visit USA 2020 Expo hits Sydney
The Visit USA National Expo tour wrapped up last night in Sydney at Luna Park. The stellar event was attended by more than 350 agents who mingled with over 60 exhibitors, here to share the latest and greatest of travel in the US.
Hollywood Gossip Guru and MC for the evening, Richard Reid, had the agents in stitches and in selfie-mode, as he wowed the room, and special guest US Consul General Sharon Hudson-Dean welcomed agents and shared her insight into why Australians love travelling to the US.
In the exhibition hall, agents and exhibitors were treated to the sounds of Texas by Sam Riggs and Joey Green, who were in town to give a sneak peak of the upcoming Texas Music Takeover coming to Sydney in April.
Across two weeks, in six cities, with over 60 exhibitors, 126 presentations to to more than 1,000 agents, and countless bottles of champagne… that’s a wrap on the Visit USA Expo for 2020.
Uniworld thanks agents with Night of Nights soiree
Last Friday, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection hosted its key agents for an evening of celebration at the Deckhouse in Woolwich.
The evening began in style with guests starting the Night of Nights by boarding a vintage Sydney ferry which transported them to the exclusive secret location.
Uniworld’s president and CEO, Ellen Bettridge, was in Sydney to host the evening and unveil several exciting announcements that agents and their clients can expect for 2020 and 2021 journeys.
The Friday evening occasion concluded a busy visit to Australia for Bettridge, who earlier in the week revealed Uniworld’s collection of four new super-ships and an innovative partnership with Golden Eagle Luxury Trains.
The exciting announcements weren’t just for Uniworld guests, either. It was also revealed that to help TTC celebrate its 100th anniversary, agents would be rewarded with a $500 booking bonus for every passenger booked before 31 March.
In addition to this uncapped incentive, agents were also thrilled with the announcement that Uniworld was launching ‘Alchemy’, its new trade partnership program designed to support and reward their top agents around Australia.
Alchemy agents will have priority access to Uniworld reservations, local area marketing funds, stateroom upgrades for industry rates, and an opportunity to join a famil to experience the S.S. La Venezia.

Sno’n’ski’s first Japan mega-famil takes off for ski slopes
Thirty of Australia’s top-selling travel agents have begun the snow trip of a lifetime, departing Australia yesterday for Sno’n’Ski Holidays’ Japan mega-famil.
While it’s the fourth year Sno’n’Ski have hosted a mega-famil, 2020 will be the first time participants will explore Japan.
With high demand for the coveted spots, this trip will run in addition to the brand’s annual North America mega-famil, which means there are a total of 60 top-selling ski experts, who have qualified from agencies across Australia this year.
Personal Travel Manager’s grand rail tour of Switzerland
Jungfraujoch is the saddle which links two of the highest peaks in Switzerland’s Bernese Alps. Despite its altitude of 3,454 metres above sea level, visitors have been easily able to gain access to this high-alpine snowy wonderland since 1912, when the lofty viewpoint was linked to the valley below via the Jungfrau narrow gauge railway line.
For TravelManagers’ Emily Turner, her time at Jungfraujoch ranked as the figurative and literal pinnacle of a week-long Swiss famil that focused on exploring this wonderland by rail.
The famil, which brought together eight travel consultants from around Australia, was one of 10 groups that together comprised a Swiss mega-famil for travel professionals from seven different countries.
Score a spot on a Sri Lanka famil
For agents wanting diversity and depth beyond the standard Cultural Triangle, this is a spellbinding Sri Lankan agents’ famil.
Eight lucky guests will be immersed in Sri Lankan culture and hospitality versus being stuck on an itinerary doing multiple property inspections and cliché activities.
From waking up in the luxury of a five-star beach property, guests will have an incredible array of experiences including staying at The Mudhouse eco-lodge, various local cooking lessons, Jeep safari, nature walks, the indigenous Vedda tribe, a boutique tea-plantation retreat, ethical turtle conservation, and nightlife in Colombo.
Participants simply need to make their own way to Colombo. Experienced consultants and managers are invited to register for The Travel Concierge Sri Lanka updates and famil by contacting Australian representative Mark Snoxell at mark@exposuredownunder.com.
