ACCESS DENIED: Excite’s booking platform is now closed

Administrators of the collapsed Excite Holidays have shut down the wholesaler’s online booking platform after selling it to Helloworld Travel.

According to a notice posted on KPMG’s website earlier this week, the platform was switched to “view-only mode” since administrators were appointed by Excite on 10 January.

“We have continued to maintain access to the booking platform for travel agents over the last six weeks so that agents can view/retrieve any booking information,” the notice states.

“As a result of the sale of the booking platform, access will be closed effective from 2pm (AEDT) on Thursday 20 February 2020 moving forward.”

In announcing the acquisition last week, Helloworld said Excite’s platform will help boost its B2B booking system, Ready Rooms, and offer better functionality for agents.

Meanwhile, the directors of Excite are set to take back control of most of the companies tied up with the wholesaler, following a vote by creditors on Monday.
