Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania attends first-ever Fall Tourism Update

For the first time, Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) has hosted a Fall Tourism Update, running across November 18 and 19 at Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Island of Hawai‘i.

The Fall Tourism Update provided HTA’s global marketing teams the opportunity to present their 2020 brand marketing plans to tourism industry partners, detailing their goals and objectives for trade relations, MCI, marketing and public relations next year. The Oceania marketing team also presented a video re-cap of 2019 so far.

Four delegates attended on behalf of Hawai‘i Tourism Oceania (HTO), including Giselle Radulovic (country manager Australia), Darragh Walshe (country manager, New Zealand), Charis Ricafuente (senior marketing manager) and Jacqui Walshe (managing director, The Walshe Group).

In addition to the Fall Tourism Update, the delegates joined Hui Aloha Kīholo and the Nature Conservancy of Hawai‘i to visit Kaloko o Kīholo (a traditional fishpond) and helped to clear invasive vegetation and debris.

The fishpond is a site of cultural significance, and is home to numerous fish species and green sea turtles.

In previous years, HTA has hosted a Global Tourism Summit, attended by industry partners, stakeholders and media. This year, the Fall Tourism Update was launched, and followed a similar format to the Spring Tourism Update which took place in March 2019.
