Deadline ahead warning sign concept

Time is running out for Australian travel agents to apply for the coveted Avis Travel Agent Scholarship, with applications closing on Monday 23 September 2019.

Established in 1996, the Avis Travel Agent Scholarship aims to encourage, recognise and reward outstanding customer service.

The program has evolved into one of the most valuable and prestigious awards offered to Australian and New Zealand travel professionals.

Finalists for this year’s scholarship will be announced on Thursday 10 September and will have the opportunity to travel to Sydney to present to the judging panel ahead of the Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday 13 November.

The winner will receive prizes valued at $35,000, including a range of experiences such as Qantas business class travel to an industry conference of the winner’s choosing within the Asia-Pacific region.

The winner will also receive professional coaching and profiling for one year from Right Path, as well as training opportunities and Cruise360 Australasia tickets courtesy of Cruise Lines International Association Australasia.

The Avis Travel Agent Scholarship application process is designed to be rigorous, transparent and impartial.

Applicants are judged by travel industry leaders on extraordinary customer service, innovation in the workplace and how they keep sustainability front of mind when working with clients.

They are required to answer a series of questions about how they meet the criteria in the most creative way, before submitting their responses in any format including PowerPoint or video.
