Midweek Interview with TMS Talent’s Chloe Spillane

TMS Talent’s recruitment consultant told us she dreams of a world where all workplaces are dog-friendly and everyone has a Range Rover. Us too, Chloe. Us too.

The challenge for the industry is…

Finding part-time roles for Mum’s returning to the industry.

The things I like about my job are…

The team, the thrill of chasing and landing a new client, changing people’s lives by finding them the perfect job and the endless opportunities for career progression.

And the frustrations are…

When people format their CV’s to a PDF instead of a Word doc.

If I didn’t work in travel, I would be…

In the arts, working in theatre – I did do a degree in it after all!

My favourite airline is…

Qantas, they’ve really stepped it up with the food options.

My proudest moment was…

On the weekend, competing in my 3rd Powerlifting competition, achieving multiple personal bests and 1st place.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Let’s keep it G-rated, shall we?

I try to relax by…

Taking my Pomeranian Theo for a long walk.

The last time I feared for my life was…

When I was 14 years’ old, cruising around the Whitsunday’s on a yacht. We encountered rough seas and I vividly remember drawers falling out, things crashing and me literally praying to God and Jesus for my life!

If I can, I always try to avoid…

People with bad vibes and negativity.

I really wish I had…

A Range Rover.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

It’s the hardest moments in life that test you, so push through it and you’ll be stronger for it.

I don’t understand why people…

Don’t like dogs.

My greatest weakness is…

Food – there’s nothing I don’t like and I rarely get full. I’m pretty much a human garbage disposal.

And my greatest strength is…

Aside from lifting 160kg off the ground, I’d say I’m extremely loyal, a good listener and have a big (and soft) heart.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Give a generous portion to family and close friends, buy a house in Sydney, a friend for Theo and a Range Rover.

If I was prime minister I would…

Raise more awareness and continue to drive support for the drought disaster, as well as incorporate pet-friendly areas in all workspaces. Dog day, every day!

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…

A wealthy heiress with my own plane, glam team, boat and Range Rover.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Central America.

My favourite holiday was…

New York. Would go back in a heartbeat!
