Sydney named world’s 10th worst city in new rankings
In a survey conducted by the TimeOut Index, more than 30,000 people rated Sydney the 10th worst city in the world.
The global researcher spoke to people in 48 cities around the world, regarding participants’ opinions on food, drink, culture, night-life, community, neighbourhoods and overall happiness.
Other surveyed factors included their opinions on their city’s beauty, affordability and convenience.
Sydney was rated worst in the world for nightlife, with TimeOut claiming the city’s newly introduced lock-out laws for after-dark culture were to blame.

On the flip-side, Melbourne was rated the second best city in the world for overall enjoyment by international travellers.
As the global capital of live music, with more venues for gigs per capita than any other city on the planet, Melbourne was loved for its live music, along with its creativity and food-culture also among its most loved qualities, the survey reported.
TimeOut also reported the city is world-renowned for its multiculturalism.
