Catch Rachael Seymour at Travel DAZE 2018!
Travel DAZE is just around the corner, folks!
Tickets are running out fast BTW, so nab them here while they last.
We’re super excited for this fourth annual event, and you should be too especially given the calibre of speakers we’ve managed to nab! One of those speakers includes director at Cornerstone People Solutions, Rachael Seymour – who’s renowned in the travel and tourism industry.
Seymour is known for creating and delivering learning content that inspires companies to adapt their sales, service and leadership skills to meet the changing demands of distribution channels and consumer purchasing patterns.
And you can soak up some of her wisdom at Travel DAZE!
Since we know you can’t wait, we asked Seymour a few quick questions about why she’s excited for this year’s Travel DAZE, but grab tickets here – and for a cheeky discount, contact Daisy Melwani: daisy@travelweekly.com.au.
What are you most looking forward to at Travel DAZE 2018?
The format is super appealing – the way it’s going to deliver bite-sized chunks of knowledge and inspiration means that for me it looks like the perfect combination of industry insights and motivational messages.
Oh, you also had me when you used the words ‘mischievous’ and ‘lateral thinking’ in the schedule information. Two mantras I live by.
The theme for Travel DAZE 2018 is “Kick Arse”. How are you kicking arse in your current role at Cornerstone PS?
We live and love to kick arse. And we kicked some major arse with a win for the best Industry Training Organisation at the recent 2018 NTIA awards.
But we don’t take our success for granted. At the heart of what we do is devising and delivering relevant training content for just about every role across the travel industry – from new starters to experienced professionals, to strategies for senior leadership, product teams to BDMs.
We do this through constantly researching current trends and strategies for success at all levels of the business, and deliver these in a multitude of ways on a daily basis. We do all this working really hard with a team who we are super proud of.
What’s been the most rewarding travel experience you’ve ever had and why?
I love working with national businesses to develop their teams, so hardly a week goes by when I don’t have something really rewarding happen through travelling.
But something that really sticks in my mind as maybe being the beginning of this was when I was 21. I spent some time living in Philadelphia working at Swain Destinations, a wholesaler that sells travel to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
Besides learning a stack about life and living as an American, I discovered my passion for travel, sales and leadership. It was the combination of these three things that got me to where I am and is what still drives me today.
What message do you hope you can impart to the attendees of Travel DAZE?
That every person has an unknown potential that can be unlocked and cultivated through effort and deliberate practice.
If you become more aware of your internal dialogue, more tuned in to how to unlock that potential and embrace change with a growth mindset, then your personal and professional life can truly kick arse.
Who’s been your greatest inspiration in the travel industry and why?
My business partner Cassi. She is a positive influence and master motivator who impresses everyone that she encounters.
Her generous spirit, in depth knowledge on everything travel and tourism and her ability to communicate is completely inspirational. After 13 years in partnership I still learn things from her every day.
Travel DAZE 2018 will be held on Monday, September 3 2018, at Belvoir St Theatre. Grab your tickets right here, and for all the other deets, head to the website.
