Midweek Interview with Scenic Eclipse’s Louise Hill

Midweek Interview with Scenic Eclipse’s Louise Hill

This week, Louise Hill, journey designer at Scenic Eclipse, took us on a European voyage… we wish. But we did interview her!

The challenge for the industry is…

Travel is always about change so staying ahead of the change is the biggest challenge.

The things I like about my job…

No day is the same, every day is different and presents a new challenge and luckily I love challenges.

And the frustrations are…

The internet – you have to be on top of your game to stay in front of the consumer… but we also can’t live without it – it’s a catch 22.

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

An astronaut.

Favourite airline?

Anyone with good service and a good aviation record.

My proudest moment was…

My wedding day – gushy but very true, the equal first was my father doing the Torch Relay for the Sydney ParaOlympics in recognition of his work with intellectually and physically disabled people.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

I am an ex Top Deck Tour Guide so too many that I can’t share! Luckily Facebook was not the “in thing” when I was a guide otherwise the world would know all my secrets…

I try to relax by…

Hanging out at the beach or the pool.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Luckily a while ago travelling in Africa.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

People with a negative outlook on life – life is too short, smile and be happy.

I really wish I had…

More holidays.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

View the world without blinkers, respect the culture and lifestyle of new places and most importantly — that a smile is a universal language.

I don’t understand why people…

Focus on the negative and then complain.

My greatest weakness is…

“Just one more”.

And my greatest strength is…

Laughter.

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Buy a weekender on the South Coast

If I was prime minister I would…

Stop Australia from being a nanny state.

If I could be someone else for one day I would be a…

TV Star.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

The Komodo Islands to see the Komodo dragon.

My favourite holiday was…

Langkawi.
