ICYMI – woman catfished by hotel pool

A hotel pool is half the reason to go on holiday, right?

But in this case, the hotel pool was half the size rather than half the reason. Just take a look at the photos:

When booking a hotel in Vietnam online, Jenny Kershaw from Manchester took one look at this rooftop pool and knew it was perfect for doing laps.

As you can imagine, when she got there she was extremely disappointed. More than one stroke of freestyle in this ‘pool’ would be near impossible.

Amused, Kershaw posted the photo to Twitter – resulting in the hotel pool going viral.

One user noticed the ladder was even too small to fit the full spelling of ‘welcome’ on it, whilst others compared the pool to a pond and accused the hotel of catfishing them.

But others pointed out that the situation could have been worse… by sharing photos of their own hotel pool mishaps.

Kershaw had booked through Booking.com, who apologised and offered to help her with a complaint. That is, after the picture was changed to something a little more accurate.

So next time you book online, dive a little deeper into the hotel pool photos to avoid disappointment.
