Barry Mayo on TravelManagers’ record breaking first quarter

TravelManagers are having a damn good year.

At only four months into 2018, Personal Travel Managers (PTMS) are kicking goals and absolutely smashing it in the sales department with a record-breaking first quarter trading.

tenor

In a release, TravelManagers’ Executive General Manager, Michael Gazal, said whilst the company continues to attract new personal travel managers (PTMs), much of this first quarter growth is due to expansion in existing PTMs’ businesses.

According to Gazal, TravelManagers’ sales were up by almost 10 per cent on the same quarter in 2017, driven by growth in most destinations.

Australia domestic travel has also grown by twenty percent compared with the same quarter last year, despite suggestions from some areas that this segment is being increasingly purchased online.

We had a chat with TravelManagers’ chairman Barry Mayo to celebrate the success of TravelManagers’ PTMs and find out the secret to their success.

Mayo told us that PTMs separate themselves from their competition with their dedication to delivering personalised service and tailoring travel arrangements to individual client’s tastes or needs.

“Whether a client is travelling for business or fun, their personal travel manager will collaborate with them to co-create a tailor-made experience that is as individual as each client is,” he said.

“With twenty plus years’ experience across the TravelManagers network, clients receive exceptional personal service and expertise.”

Mayo also attributes PTMs success to their high level of repeat clients and client referrals.

“Client referrals are a major contributor to each personal travel manager’s success and are a testimony to existing client’s satisfaction. ”

For personal travel manager Fabiana Lorenzon, representative for Innaloo, closing the first quarter of 2018 on a high comes as confirmation that the TravelManagers’ model and focus on personalised service really works.

“For me, the key destinations to watch this year include South America, the USA and Canada, South East Asia and Africa,” Lorenzon predicts, noting that perennial star performer Europe, “is also expected to continue to perform strongly as well.”

TravelManagers said that they are not content to rest on their laurels at this point in the year and are predicting further significant growth for the balance of 2018.
