Beast from the East causes further travel disruptions

The Arctic storm currently plaguing Europe, dubbed the “Beast from the East”, is doubling down the UK and causing flight delays and cancellations.

The Siberian cold snap hit the UK yesterday, after causing a handful of deaths across Europe and disrupting travel plans of thousands.

Temperatures have fallen to as low as -12C in some areas, and Scotland is facing warnings of up to 40cm of snow in higher areas.

A spokesperson from London’s weather bureau, Met Office, told News.com parts of England and Wales are likely to see their coldest spell since 2013, possibly 1991.

Authorities warned commuters to get home by 6 pm, before the storm intensifies, and shoppers have reportedly been panic-buying supplies, clearing out supermarket shelves.

British Airways has cancelled several flights from Heathrow Airport and easyJet has warned of flight disruptions.

Despite all the damage and disruption, the storm has caused so far, we would like to draw your attention to something wonderful the Beast from the East has bestowed upon us.
