Midweek Interview with Wendy Wu Tours’ Vito Romeo

Midweek Interview with Wendy Wu Tours’ Vito Romeo

This week, we took the VIC/NSW State Sales Manager of Wendy Wu Tours aside for an uber-private chat in a secret location. Okay fine, we emailed him.

The challenge for the industry is…

Fear of online! There needs to be more education in this space.

The things I like about my job…

Constantly meeting new people and forming friendships and being able to sell dreams on a daily basis!

And the frustrations are …

Road traffic and lack of/cost of parking! Robbery!

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

A lawyer … always love to win a good argument!

Favourite airline?

United Airlines!

My proudest moment was…

The birth of my three beautiful children. There are not words to explain the feeling.

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Convinced my neighbour to pretend he was my brother and come along to Report Day at school in place of my parents, knowing my report was going to be bad! It worked!

I try to relax by…

Plane spotting at Melbourne Airport.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Being held up at knife point in Seville, Spain!

If I can, I always try to avoid…

Negative people.

I really wish I had…

The chance to go back in time and become a pilot!

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

If you have an issue, either deal with it or move on and let it go and pick your battles.

I don’t understand why people…

Focus on the material stuff and forget to live their life. Life is short, so make it count and stop sweating the little stuff and enjoy it!

My greatest weakness is…

Questioning everything and need to know the “why” all the time!

And my greatest strength is…

To try and make people smile and happy on a daily basis!

If I won a $1 million lottery (aside from travelling), I would…

Continue living life as I have, within my means, doing what makes me happy emersed with those that make me happy – my family and friends.

If I was prime minister I would…

Definitely, introduce a three day weekend as people need to live more and work less!

If I could be someone else for one day I would be…

Richard Branson, as he values people and proves everyone wrong.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Antartica and Alaska.

My favourite holiday was…

Trans-Siberian from St Petersburg to Beijing.
