Helloworld snags government contract

Helloworld Travel has plenty to celebrate today, after its Hotel Program Management business, AOT Hotels, scored a government contract.

AOT Hotels has managed to successfully re-tender the Whole of the Australian Government (WoAG) Accommodation Program Management (APM) contract, entering into a new deal with the Commonwealth for ongoing services.

The AOT Group, which merged with Helloworld in February 2016, snagged the original tender for WoAG APM in 2012, commencing provision of services in July the same year.

The initial contract period was three years, with two further one-year extensions.

Meanwhile, this new contract is another three-year deal, with further extension options of up to three years, provided Helloworld comes good on its promises.

For the first time, the contract also includes the (lucrative) international accommodation requirements, in addition to homegrown travel.

AOT Hotels’ General Manager, Rohan Moss, said, “The company was very pleased to be the successful tenderer after the efforts that had gone into the program over the last five years.

“We have developed a bespoke solution at multiple levels to service the many and varied needs of Commonwealth Government Agencies and Departments over the last five years and we look forward to continuing to provide our services in the years ahead.”
