Qatar Airways launches new ‘No Borders’ ad

Qatar Airways launches new ‘No Borders’ ad

Qatar Airways is determined to push past its setbacks that have cropped up as a result of a dispute with neighbouring countries, land are doing so with a new ad campaign.

In recent weeks, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and several more countries cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, which resulted in the blocking of Qatari travel and severely restricting Qatar Airways’ airspace.

The blockade threatened to ground Qatar’s national carrier, with one piece of international aviation law saving them. Last week, Qatar Airways’ CEO Akmar Al-Baker slammed the ban as “illegal”, but promised it wouldn’t slow Qatar’s growth, announcing 24 new destinations in the next year.

Today, the airline released a statement saying, “At Qatar Airways, we believe there should be no borders in the sky, only horizons.

“Today’s new television and social media commercial titled “No Borders, Only Horizons”, showcases how the skies are for everyone, should be free of restrictions, and that this world is all of ours to explore.

“Despite recent restrictions imposed on Qatar Airways, operations to and from Doha remain smooth across more than 90 percent of our global network including our Australia operations.

“Qatar Airways’ main focus is on supporting any passengers impacted by the current situation and ensuring the airline continues to deliver its award-winning service.

“The airline’s ambitious network expansion plans will continue with flights to Dublin, Ireland successfully commencing from 12 June 2017 and flights to Nice, France starting on 4 July 2017.”
