Wendy Wu Shows India to First time Agents
Wendy Wu Tours, recently hosted an agent famil to India for first time visitors to discover what attracts a growing number of Australians to this vibrant destination. Hosted by Aaron Phillips, the itinerary was a tailored version of Wendy Wu’s Golden Triangle tour over seven days, perfect for a first time visitor. It featured the main highlights including the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, renowned for its forts and palaces and Agra, home to the majestic Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The group ended their journey visiting the many highlights of Delhi.
Feedback from the participating agents was extremely positive on all aspects- the country as a destination, Wendy Wu Tours services on the ground and the opportunity to get first-hand knowledge of selling points to assist clients with their bookings. It was encouraging that all agents made note of their desire to return and explore the country further. The group also managed to explore the highlights on a stopover in Bangkok, courtesy of Thai Airways.
Changes at Machu Picchu
From 1 July this year there will be a complete reorganisation of how visitors access and experience the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru. Currently you buy tickets for entry at any time on your chosen date, and can visit at any time on that day staying as long as you wish within opening hours.
World Journeys director, Chris Lyons, said many visitors are opting to visit in the morning and spend all day. From 1 July 2017 visitors will choose from 3 tourist routes around the ruins, ranging from 2 to 3 hours duration, for a visit either in the morning OR the afternoon. Each circuit covers specific sites in the ruins, and guides can spend a maximum of 20 minutes at any one site. Chris Lyons explains that these changes have become necessary due to the ever-increasing number of visitors to Machu Picchu.
