Festival packed and cultural rich 2017 events calendar for New Caledonia

There is a line–up of exciting festivals, activities and events on the island paradise, which is well-placed to showcase its melting pot of culinary wonders, cultural delights, sports and natural beauty.

The 2017 Events calendar has been released and makes a trip to New Caledonia a must-do this year. Whether participating or spectating, the destination has something for everyone. Sports enthusiasts can experience the Transcaledonienne Trail, join in the New Caledonia Marathon or the legendary golfing tournament, the South Pacific Open (PGA). For the more active traveller, the New Caledonia Triathlon, one of New Caledonia’s premier annual sporting events is ideal.

Adding to New Caledonia’s existing suite of quirky food festivals, including the Giant Omelette Festival; Avocado Festival; and Pahatr (fern) and Lobster Festival, the Gastronomy festival will offer up a fusion of French and Melanesian cuisine, featuring local delicacies, produce and a French flare.
Music festival aficionados won’t want to miss the Blackwoodstock Rock and Art Festival. Meet with a melodic smorgasbord of talented local and international artists and soak up the sun and sounds of New Caledonia.
