Travel’s best offices part 2

Travel’s best offices part 2

If you work in travel, the desire to travel is strong. But if you’re a travel company, you need a base to start from.

This is where the industry’s best offices step in. We take a sneak peek at the companies who bring the world into their cubicles and whisk staff away with global inspiration.

G ADVENTURES

This warehouse type space in the heartland of Melbourne’s Southbank, near to the hedonism of the Crown casino, is doing great things for the world by starting with its staff. They are an enthusiastic bunch, and who wouldn’t be when there is a room filled with tiny soft balls in the office, a miniature version of the children play dens.

This is the room where new recruits for jobs here are asking questions around culture, which is as crucial to the job as qualifications. Continuing the ethos of having fun is a meeting room decked out with Dr Seuss illustrations and quotes. Oh, the places you’ll go.

There’s also an Arctic and Antarctic room, as this is one of the top selling destination products for the Australian markets. It has huge photo penguins on the wall along with stuffed toy penguins of three feet high. There is also table tennis and some fierce competition between ping-pong balls.

There is a wall in the kitchen devoted to staff’s travel photos, all framed.
