Travellers get in festival spirit

Topdeck Travel’s latest statistics report that festival trips are supposed to rise up to 20% this year, following latest youth trends in travel.

Trends show that Gen Y are looking to outdo their peers by outshining previous travel experiences and, of course, bragging about it on social media.

The most popular festival trips from the past two years are Oktoberfest-related, and these are expected to soar in sales for 2016/17.

Topdeck tours are all pre-organised, taking away the stress of booking accommodation and travel arrangements during the festival.

General Manager for Topdeck Asia Pacific, Joe Ponte, said, “Everyone who does a festival trip shares common goals – to meet like minded people, experience a country’s culture and tick off a major bucket list experience that they’ve been wanting to do for years.

“Passengers have been so excited to get to Munich for Oktoberfest that they’ve slept outside, tents packed, breakfast ready to go and left ahead of time at the crack of dawn – all just to get there sooner.

“Our trips allow Topdeckers to experience a country’s personality and life like a local as they get a unique pack behind the door of their celebrations.”
