Qantas comes up trumps in satisfaction stakes

Qantas has been handed the title of best airline for both domestic and business travel after the announcement of 2015’s Customer Satisfaction Awards.

The awards, which were announced at a gala dinner in Melbourne, are based on 12 months of data from over 50,000 Australian consumers based on Roy Morgan’s Customer Single Source Survey.

Qantas was awarded the titles of Domestic Airline of the Year and Domestic Business Airline of the Year, with Singapore Airlines named the International Airline of the Year in the travel and tourism sector.

They joined other major businesses such as Lexus, Myer and Commonwealth Bank in celebrating their victories.

Roy Morgan Research chief executive Michele Levine said that the winners were celebrated for their tireless commitment to customer satisfaction.

“From industries as diverse as automotive and utilities, banking and retail, all of last night’s award winners have one thing in common: they go the extra mile for their customers and their customers recognise their efforts.

“Now in their fifth year, the Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards are widely considered to be the most accurate, reliable measure of customer satisfaction in Australia,” she said.

The victory came as good news for the Flying Kangaroo, after competition heated up with Virgin Airlines over the course of the year.

“With both airlines performing at similar levels during 2015 so far, December’s Customer Satisfaction results will be critical to the final annual result for these categories,” Levine commented earlier this year.
