Carnival Cruise Line’s local sales team will expand its focus to the promotion of its international itineraries for the first time.

From January 1, travel agents will have a central sales team, phone number and website for all of the cruise line’s local and international cruise queries and bookings with the cruise line ending its current arrangement with international general sales agent Travel the World.

Vice president Australia Jennifer Vandekreeke described it as a “natural progression” for the cruise line.

“Since we launched Carnival Spirit in the Australian market in 2012, we’ve been focused on the operation and promotion of our local ships,” she said.

“Now that Carnival has successfully established a strong local team, it makes sense for us to expand our support for sales to our internationally based ships.”

Vandekreeke highlighted the launch of Carnival Vista in Europe next May as a highlight of the international program, calling it an “exciting time” for the cruise line.

“We can’t wait to start working with agents on our international cruise offering.”

Meanwhile, Vandekreeke paid tribute to the efforts of Travel the World over the last decade, branding them “excellent ambassadors” for Carnival Cruise Line.

“We can’t thank them enough for the work they have done on our behalf and their true professionalism in helping us coordinate this transition.”
