Sydney’s first floating hotel takes to the water

Sydney’s first floating hotel takes to the water

HotelTonight’s luxurious travelling hotel suite has reappeared, this time on the picturesque waters of Sydney Harbour making it the city’s first floating hotel.

The Spontaneity Suite, accessible exclusively by boat, is made from two 20 foot shipping containers and will be available for two nights only. Between 12 and 2 pm on Saturday November 14 and Sunday November 15, the hotel app will drop the price from $36,000 to just $99.

HotelTonight regional director Stefan Cordiner said the unusual new suite caters to the Aussie thirst for “thrilling and off-beat” holidays.

“The Spontaneity Suite taps into this desire to experience something unique, and also aims to inspire travel-loving Australians to explore their own backyard in search of adventure,” he said.

“Our brand is all about creating memorable moments, and we believe those can be created by being more spontaneous at home.”

The suite, serviced by Ovolo Hotels, made its debut in the Yarra Valley in August. In its new Sydney location, room service is delivered by boat daily. Views can be enjoyed from the deck or from the Jacuzzi located on the roof. There is also a keyless entry system, wifi, Apple TV and Netflix.

Included in the cost of the room are return boat transfers, meals and mini bar along with access to HotelTonight’s new Aces personal concierge service.
