Who is Australia’s best value travel insurer?

Travel insurance is that one essential that always slips under the radar, so it helps to have a go-to provider.

That’s why Mozo has unveiled the best value travel insurers in the country as part of its annual Experts Choice Travel Insurance Awards.

The comparison site looked at 159 policies from 62 providers, and found Aussie travellers could be paying as much as 300% more for travel insurance than they need to.

Mozo’s director Kirsty Lamont said it’s a simple task that can make or break your holiday.

“Anyone heading overseas should take the time, not only to find the most suitable cover, but to shop around and weigh up prices side by side,” she said.

“The cheapest comprehensive policy for a family heading to the US was $124 and went right up to $504 – that’s triple the price for the same level of cover.”

Insure and Go took out Travel Insurer of the Year based on it winning an Award in all five categories.   Other big winners, taking home two Awards each, were FastCover, Virgin, Woolworths and 1300 Travel Insurance.
