Booking.com backs impulse travel

Booking.com backs impulse travel

The Apple Watch finally arrived on Friday, and Booking.com has welcomed it with its own app.

Drawing from its vast selection of properties, the Booking Now app is the first travel app to enable users to book a stay from their watch, save the locations of their chosen property, and be guided by navigation to their accommodation of choice.

The app also saves the room number for the duration of travellers’ stay, and allows them to rate their overall check-in experience.

“At Booking.com, we’re dedicated to empowering travellers to simply search and book an accommodation that’s just right for them, no matter which screen or device,” principal designer at Booking.com Stuart Frisby said.

“Bringing Booking Now to the Apple Watch is the next chapter in our relentless commitment to innovation. By integrating cutting- edge technologies we are able to streamline the booking process even further which allows users to secure the right accommodation with ultimate ease.‘’

‘’The Booking Now app for the Apple Watch is designed to meet today’s growing preference for on-demand and instantaneous travel while offering a simple and tailored experience on arguably the most personal computer ever made.”

With 97% of Aussie travellers agreeing that technology has made it easier to book travel, and a massive 87% agreeing the new tech encourages more spontaneous travel, the app is set to bring bookings to new heights.

Booking Now for the Apple Watch is designed to sit alongside the existing Booking Now iPhone app, with the mobile app available in 15 languages.
