NOMO SOHO adds swank to Manhattan

NOMO SOHO is set to change the swanky hotel scene in Downtown Manhattan following a partnership between ASRR Capital and Gerard Guez, fashion mogul and founder of popular Buddha Bar.

The new independent luxury hotel NOMO SOHO will pay homage to the historic neighbourhood in Manhattan, and is said to bring a “distinctively modern hospitality experience” to the city. The property was formally known as the Mondrian SoHo.

“As an abbreviation for “nostalgic + modern,” the term NOMO sits at the intersection of vintage and cutting edge, both associated with the style of its location,” according to a statement by the hotel.

The 263-room hotel will be part of Preferred Hotel & Resorts’ “Lifestyle” collection and its acquisition by ASRR Capital is part of the organisation’s decision to expand their luxury hospitality portfolio, the group said.

“This gem of a property will be inspired by the diverse creative types who stay, work and play in this neighborhood,” NOMO SOHO chief executive and head of hospitality, Graham Leslie said.

“With our guests’ progressive personalities and styles in the forefront of our minds, we’re eager to revamp the experience into a curated environment for all who walk through our doors.”

With floor-to-ceiling windows offering skyline views, the hotel is slated to complete its re-launch later this year and attract A-list clientele.
