Evergreen expands river ships with winning formula

Evergreen Tours has confirmed the construction of a fifth Emerald ‘Star Ship’, Emerald Belle to join its fleet in 2016.

The tour operator went with the same configuration and design as the four other ‘Star Ships’ launched in its fleet last year due to “extremely positive guest feedback”.

“The stylish and innovative ‘Star Ships’ are exactly what the market has been waiting for. With Emerald Belle joining the fleet in 2016 Evergreen guests will have an even greater choice of sailings and stateroom availability on these award-winning river cruisers,” Evergreen Tours, general manager, Angus Crichton said.

Emerald Belle will feature a 24 meter-squared onboard-heated swimming pool with a retractable glass roof, transforming into a cinema for evening shows and cabin design with an indoor balcony including a decked area and open-air system.

Evergreen’s Emerald ‘Star Ships’ are targeted toward a four-star plus market but uses “five-star ships” and a “virtually all-inclusive pricing plan”, the operator said. Each ship caters to 182 guests and offers 72 suites and 20 staterooms, including two built for solo occupancy.

The tour operator released its Deluxe Europe River Cruising 2016 Preview brochure last week.
