Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island, making it the first property of the brand to open in Fiji.

Located 30 minutes from Nadi International Airport, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Fiji – Sonaisali Island will open with 123 rooms in an expansive oceanfront location overlooking the South Pacific Ocean.

The resort property will also offer a swimming pool, various restaurants and conferencing facilities.

“We are proud to be flying the DoubleTree by Hilton flag in yet another exciting market – truly exemplifying the strength and momentum of the brand on an international scale,” DoubleTree by Hilton’s global head John Greenleaf said.

The property is currently operating as Sonaisali Island Resort, owned by the Vision Group Fiji, with the property shutting its doors in November and set to reopen in early 2015.

“Fiji has long been known as one of the Pacific’s most idyllic destinations. Its close proximity to Australia and New Zealand, wide range of activities and rich culture and heritage make for a unique leisure holiday,” DoubleTree by Hilton’s vice president of operations, Australasia Ashley Spencer said.

“With the launch of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand in Fiji, we look forward to providing travellers with an exceptional full-service resort hotel that compliments the country’s best tourism assets, particularly those on offer for families.”

Guests can also expect a range of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn, as well as 24-hour business and fitness centres, and a variety of food and beverage offerings to cater for all guests’ needs.

DoubleTree by Hilton is Hilton Worldwide’s fastest growing full service brand, with 380 properties in 33 countries and territories.

As participants in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, the property will offer guests the ability to earn and redeem Hilton HHonors points.
