Is Kimye making Aussie island home?
By admin

The Chinese President is not the only one making waves in Australia this week, with Hollywood royalty Kim Kardashian and Kanye West dropping in to sunny Queensland.

According to news.com.au, the couple are preparing to hand over a cool $5 million to buy an island off the coast of Gladstone in Queensland for a “family retreat”.

The couple are believed to be in negotiations to buy Turtle Island, which has been in the market for a number of years.

News.com.au reported that marketing agent Richard Vanhoff had revealed he was working with an overseas buyer for the sale of the island, however would not confirm who the buyer was, except to say they had visited the island last week.

If Kim, who is currently swanning around Australia to launch a new perfume, was to buy the property, she would be buying the freehold of the 9.41 hectare island, according to the website.

On the island, there is currently a 600 square metre single-level house, complete with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, and with stunning views over the Great Barrier Reef and its surrounds.

The house has its own private jetty, a guest wing with three separate bedrooms, a lounge room, bathroom and veranda, as well as an inground swimming pool, according to news.com.au.

There is also a helipad, making trips back and forth between the mainland a breeze.
