USA reports growth as it calls agents ‚Äúdream makers”

Brand USA has called growth in Australian visitation “amazing,” saying Australia has clocked the second highest growth rate at a mega-famil event in Dallas.

“Only one place grown faster than Australia and that’s Brazil,” Brand USA senior vice president Alfredo Gonzalez said.

This year Brand USA’s mega-famil sent agents to five different destinations and agents travelled in the states of Colorado, Tennessee, NY/Washington, Texas and Utah.

“This mega famil invites you to see more, and see the interaction between the gateways and to see how these people live and go out,”  Gonzalez said.

The mega-famil hosted Australian agents for the second year running and New Zealand agents for the first time.

The inclusion of New Zealand trade this year was down to impressive growth figures, with visitation numbers between January and July this year up 24%.

Qantas partnered with the tourism body for the familiarisation trip and flagged further investment in the Americas.

“We have announced new services between Melbourne and Los Angeles, we’re increasing our services over the peak period, we’ve introduced the A380 to Dallas and we’re incredibly excited, it’s fulfilling our expectations beyond what we thought, ” Qantas senior VP Vanessa Hudson said.

“This is an incredibly important market for us and we’re continuing to improve our offering,” Hudson said.

Qantas acknowledged media reports around its “transformation”.

“We have been working really hard and we’re not there, but we’re on track,” Hudson said.

“We are selling an experience and for agents you make dreams come true,” Gonzalez said. “Brand USA is a way of selling the US in a way never been sold before.”
