Branson launches unlimited holiday leave

Branson launches unlimited holiday leave
By admin

Richard Branson has announced Virgin staff can now take as much annual holiday leave as they want, according to the official statement released on Virgin’s website today.

Branson has referenced the way technology means we are now accessible 24/7, with the new policy designed to allow time-poor staff to reset their lifestyle balance.

“If working nine to five no longer applies, why should strict annual leave policies?” Branson asked in the statement.

Virgin’s new policy essentially gives employees the flexibility to take leave anytime, with their holiday days no longer being tracked.

Of course, the staff cannot simply leave their team in the lurch mid project, and are still responsible for ensuring things are taken care of while they are away.

Branson cites his daughter Holly as his inspiration, who informed him of Netflix’s ‘holiday anytime’ policy for their staff.

Branson was told by Holly that a similar policy existed at a friend’s company, with “morale, creativity and productivity” reported to have gone through the roof.

The innovative and fearless CEO has now confirmed he is instigating the policy for his UK and US offices first, and if it works it will be rolled out worldwide.
