Top five NSW outback parks to visit this winter
By admin

With the approach of the cooler months, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) has released a list of top five parks to visit in the NSW outback.

Visitors are being urged to explore the outback, easily accessible from major metropolitan areas such as Sydney and Melbourne, to experience not only the beauty of the environment but also the Indigenous cultural history that dates back 45,000 years.

Some of the sites offered by outback parks include the unique sand and mud dunes of the Walls of China at Mungo, the floodplains of Kinchega, the wildlife of Paroo-Darling and the weathered red soils of Gundabooka.

NPWS will also be running Discovery tours for visitors to learn more about indigenous heritage in the outback, and travellers that plan to stay in the parks have the option to camp or stay at NPWS accommodation.

The top five parks to visit in the NSW outback compiled by NPWS are as follows:

1. Mungo National Park
