Qantas to codeshare with Bangkok Airways
By admin

Qantas is to codeshare with Bangkok Airways in a deal the flag carrier said will “significantly improve” its Asian network.

From the end of March, Qantas passengers will be able to book tickets on the Thai carrier from Bangkok to Ko Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi and Chiang Rai and from Singapore to Ko Samui.

The two airlines said they are in talks over a reciprocal agreement that will enable Bangkok Airways to place its code on Qantas flights from Bangkok and Singapore to Australia and on a number of domestic routes.

“This partnership is great news for our customers travelling to resort destinations in Thailand,” Qantas international chief executive Simon Hickey said.

“It will allow customers to connect to their holiday destination via Bangkok or Singapore, with more opportunities to earn frequent flyer points and have their luggage checked straight through to their final destination.”
