Australian arrivals to Canada climbed 4.5% in October to 15,567, official figures from Canadian Customs have revealed.

It took total arrivals from Australia in the first 10 months of the year to 229,371, a 2% rise on the corresponding period in 2012.

 

Etihad Airways has announced daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Rome to begin service in July next year.

Rome's Fiumicino airport will be Etihad's second Italian operation, joining Milan Malpensa.

“Our new daily services to Rome are a significant addition to our European network and will strengthen our offering to Australian travellers," Etihad president and CEO James Hogan said.

“Travellers will now be able to connect in Rome to other cities on Alitalia’s domestic and European network; to destinations like Bolzano, Tirana and Zagreb with Etihad Regional; and to Belgrade with Air Serbia," Hogan said.

 

Emirates has announced a daily A380 service from Dubai to Mauritius, becoming the airline's 24th A380 route and conducted in partnership with Air Mauritius and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.

"Passengers from key markets such as London, Paris, Moscow and Shanghai, flying via our hub in Dubai, now have the chance to experience a seamless Emirates A380 experience," Emirates executive vice president Thierry Antinori said.

"We will be able to bring 153 more passengers each day to this beautiful island destination, thus further strengthening our support for the country’s tourism industry and trade sectors,” Antinori added.

 

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced that its yearly industry gala is sold out.

The event will take place at Doltone House in Hyde Park on February 8.

“We’ve received a lot of entries for the Agency & Network Cruise Promotion categories with our judges now facing the difficult task of choosing winners,” CLIA Australasia general manager Brett Jardine said.

 

Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa has launched a hotel shuttle service to improve accessibility for guests between the hotel and downtown Queenstown. The service runs nine times a day between 7am and 10:30pm.
