Consumers introduced to Helloworld brand
By admin

The launch of a nationwide integrated marketing and advertising campaign yesterday has introduced the Australian public to the new “multichannel” Helloworld retail brand.

The company, formerly known as Jetset Travelworld Group, is now trading online through its Helloworld.com.au platform which is powered by Orbitz Worldwide and features a range of flights, hotels, cruises and car hire.

Further functionality and content will be added to the website over the coming months, with the site to operate alongside a call centre in order to provide Australian travellers with 24/7 access to the product range.

The multichannel strategy aims to provide consumers with “new ways” to tap into the experience of its agents, according to Helloworld.

“Research has shown that today’s travellers want the convenience of online retailing combined with the expertise and support of a full service agency,” chief executive Rob Gurney said.

“Helloworld offers travellers the best of both worlds, so that every step of the journey to their perfect holiday is a pleasurable and hassle free experience.”

Gurney reiterated the fledgling brand’s intentions to draw together up to 1000 travel agencies, with more than 200 already signed up and agreements for a further 350 locations “in the pipeline”.

Further functionality and content will be added to the website over the coming months, he revealed.

Meanwhile, Helloworld has still declined to confirm or deny reports that 40 Best Flights jobs have been axed as part of plans to scale back the business.
